Loft find

Hello,
I've just recently moved into a new place and found this in the loft. Any ideas in it's age or value? It's quite heavy.

i was so hoping that was two sided...

 

I would think it's a door stop. An internet search for "horse door stop" will bring up other examples. It does appear vintage but not of fine quality.

Welcome, @Stephen Ridden -- Although you didn't say what size it is, I agree that it's likely to be a doorstop.

This old auction from 2012 includes a doorstop with a very similar looking horse, sold in a lot with a tole stenciled tray for $100. I don't know which of the two was more desirable. The doorstop in the auction may be of a completely different metal than yours is. Certainly appears so.

Thank you for your reply! I think it might be plated from the corrosion on the base.
