IMG20190710144242.jpg Hi guys! Can anybody help me identify this pottery mark? It's on the bottom of a vase which has a great mid-century look. But I may be wrong! Many thanks. IMG20190710144153.jpg IMG20190710144242.jpg IMG20190710144153.jpg IMG20190710144242.jpg

    Welcome, Nooshie!

I personally am not familiar with the G.H.R. marking, and I'm hoping some of our UK posters will be around in a few hours to provide some info for you.

Meanwhile, I just did a little searching online for your vase. I found several with similarities, all marked with the G.H.R. like yours, and all of them identified as Victorian-era DENBY vases.

Whether this is a correct attribution, or whether one person mis-identified a piece and others copied, I honestly don't know. (Again, I hope one of our UK people will help make sense of this.)

Anyway, here are a couple I saw online:

I don't know if any of this helps at all, but perhaps it can be a jumping off point for looking into things further.

It's Denby Bourne, the earlier factory. Late 19th.

These were spill vases. Not sure who GHR was, might have been a pub, brewery, hotel or whatever. Quite possibly giveaways.
