I am having a bit of a hard time identifying this blown glass compote. I think it has some age...not a recent Italian piece, but I could be wrong. The glass has a very smooth waxy feel and a ground pontil. Any thoughts from the glass experts would be much appreciated!!

My gut reaction is that this is a rather new import. Bears some similarity to French art glass but not a match. For comparison, here is an example using a similar technique by Schneider.
