    Hi all,

I am in the market for a diamond ring. Trying to keep costs down, but realise I’ll have to spend a couple thousand $?

    I’m looking for a US size 7.

My gf said that she likes the style of this ring, it’s quirkiness.. but she wants something with a diamond as it’s traditional.

I am based in NYC. Does anyone have any ideas or rings for me?

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Sam

Ohhh, I can't remember the fine jewelry designer who works in that style. Advertises (or advertised) in Town & Country magazine. Hope someone else can remember.

A planished/hammered band and a diamond in a bezel surrounded by a "cup". Unless you already have the diamond it won't be $2000. The sapphires in the Sepkus ring above are only about 3mm in diameter.

The funny thing is I'd designed something similar in my head years ago with a brown diamond. It might be worth searching on Pinterest; odds are someone has a whole board full.

I like her example - it has elements of Brualism to me, but a lot of really strange things can show up under the style. You just never know.

You might try Google for "French tank diamond rings" for fun. They're more formal and can be a bit ostentatious, but super cool.

    I've always wanted one :angelic:

(Here's where I start salting the forum for my Christmas gift exchange picks. LOL)

Yes, congrats on your happy news!

On that sale of Ilias Lalaounis: We used to be able to get sold 1st dib (and other site) sold prices...

But lately, this is what I get:

    Congratulations, samuelc.:)
I don't know of a similar ring with a diamond, but Brutalist, as scouts said, could be a search term.

So happy to learn a new word... Planish. (Now if I can just remember to use it when appropriate!)

Well, as you're in NYC... Suggest you browse the fine jewelry counters at the department stores with good departments -- Barney's, Saks and Bergdorf's. Unlikely you'll find same but could give you some good ideas.
