I know nothing about this rug other than it is not Navajo. Can anyone give me a bit more to go on before I go to an appraiser? (may not be worth going to appraiser.) 75 x 52" Thanks

My best guess would be Chimayo (Hispanic-American, not a tribal piece.)

If you are planning to sell it, I wouldn't bother going to an appraiser (who probably knows less about this particular item than many members on this board.) I'd base selling price on what you paid for it, or check Sold Listings online to see if you can find what similar ones have been selling for.

It's a nice piece, but made on a commercial floor loom (evidenced by the fringe) and most likely from the Chimayo area, based on the way the fringe is tied off. It appears to have a wool warp, indicating that's where it's from. If it's cotton, it's more likely from Mexico.
