I am unable to find a similar necklace. Wondering what the stone & the design could be and the markings on the back. It is choker style. The stone is approx. 1 3/4" in length. It is actually a softer blue than my pictures show. Thanks for any help or direction to research it. #01.JPG #03.jpg #04.JPG #05.JPG #06.JPG #08.JPG #11.JPG #01.JPG #03.jpg #04.JPG #05.JPG #06.JPG #08.JPG #11.JPG

Lovely, Cardon. The style is Egyptian Revival, the cabochon is a very stylized scarab, probably glass:

I would call it a scarab....it looks plastic from here.
    The writing is just symbols....
    Nice pics !!

Stone maybe slag glass ? - or plastic/resin like komo said - but not seeing any bubbles on first glance.

Yes, the scarab could be resin.

Thanks everyone. When I tape the pendent on my teeth it sounds like a thud. Would that be a sign that it is resin? It is room temperature to touch. And Komo there are no bubbles anywhere on it. It is very smooth front and back.

A thud and room temperature feel would seem to indicate resin yes. Glass or stone should feel at least slightly cold to the touch, and have more of a click or or clack than a thud.

Sorry Aaroncab that was you who mentioned the bubbles. I looked at it with a magnifying glass and could not see any anywhere. How do I tell if it is slag?

Aaron, I was typing away, when your post appeared. This is as far as I got: Sounds like it is resin, glass and stone would be cold to the touch and sound like a :D

Slag is glass, and this is most likely resin.

So are you saying the symbols would not mean anything?

Thanks Any Jewelry, it doesn't feel like glass at all. Thanks for your help. It certainly makes a statement when you wear it.

Agree with AJ - most likely resin - really any other tests you could do would be slightly destructive - scratch test or hot needle...those types of things would put a mark or a small hole in it. I've seen plenty of resin pendants/what nots that don't really have bubbles so the lack of bubbles doesn't guarantee that it isn't resin.

I don't see any meaning to them whatsoever.....just random marks.
