Cobalt blue tea set with gold trim edge. Image of a child playing a pan flute on a deep coral background. Gold roses on the blue background.

Set includes a teapot, sugar bowl, creamer, 6 saucers and 4 teacups.

Markings on bottom are an inverted triangle with J B & W inside. N Y on the outside and Germany underneath. All in gold. There is a gold number 77 on some of the pieces. The lid of the teapot also has the number 01727 pressed into the glass.

Teapot is 6 1/2 inches high without lid. Teacups are 2 inches high.

I believe my grandfather gave it to my father. Can anyone tell me anything about it?

So image 1-02 on the link definitely matches my pieces. Does this mean it is a reproduction made in NY state? Is there any way to determine the age and value of the set?

Until now, nothing is known about the company itself except that it was an U.S. importer based in Fenton/New York.

    No.
What it is saying is that JB&W was an import company based in NY, and they had these items made in Germany to be brought and sold in the US.

    It's a very nice set.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Strangely enough, the spelling doesn't look like it says 'GERMANY'.....granted it's not very clear, but...........it's also a STUNNING SET!!!!!!

It looks like a coffee pot to me, and porcelain.

Sort of looks like it says Gernamy though I'm sure it's supposed to be Germany and probably is. I wonder if it's clearer on some of the other pieces.

I also think it’s a coffee pot, tea pots are usually “short and stout” :)
