Featured Looking for Maker & Age on Antique Plates, Please

    These plates were a wedding gift 50+ years ago from an antique dealer & we were told they were antique then.
    I've recently been scoring the internet for similar/like plates and the marks. Are they English or US made? Hopefully your skills are better than mine.

    Whenever you see that belted buckle as part of a mark, it's a pretty reliable sign of Staffordshire manufacture....don't know why that is though as it is really part of the Scottish clan badges ...

    <edit> I guess I should say "buckled belt" though, right?

    It's a Staffordshire garter, part of the arms of the Earl of Stafford and also of John Stafford first earl of Wiltshire.
