My grandad fondly remembers this drink and would do anything for even one bottle of it. I've done some looking around, but cant find anything. If anyone has any info on this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Manufactured just around the corner from where I live in Victoria British Columbia Canada, made in the 1980's or early 90's ....was big hit locally for a few years then disappeared:jawdrop::arghh::meh::hungover:

...or maybe not if you can still buy it - I should look again at @ulilwitch's link I guess ..

edit: I guess they moved to California, haven't seen this stuff locally for years (although I don't drink pop)

from my granddad: "I was born in Longmont, Colorado, but moved to Kansas between first and second grade. That was in the mid-1950's. Pappy's seltzer was mid- to
    late-1980s."

I found trademark information for Cajun Seltzer sold by Kershenstine Products Inc. starting sometime around 1976. The trademark was abandoned by 1987.

It was described as a "Fruit Flavored Carbonated Non-Alcoholic" beverage. Could that be the brand name?

    From my grandad:

Everyone who proved to be such helpful Seltzer Detectives, I most
certainly appreciate your efforts in tracking down the Pappy Kershenstine
company in it's current guise. Though it would have been fantastic if
we'd all learned they still make and distribute the world's very best
seltzers somewhere on this mortal plane, it was almost as good to see
they do still exist! It was a treat to once again see that old familiar
likeness of Pappy himself. I'd not seen that in more than 30 years.
That was when I finally broke down and drank the last bottle of his
raspberry seltzer that I'd stuck away in the back of the refrigerator
over a year before. Yes, even I, after all that time, decided one
Saturday morning I had to do it and I drank the entire thing in about two
or three flavorful gulps.... ah, but the aroma, the taste... and... it
was gone. :-( But, many thanks to all of you for helping me relive
that important day again today. All the best and stay safe! Avanti!

    unsourced.........

They say the term "soda pop" is traced back to the 1800s when seltzer water came into production and tasty carbonated beverages were eventually served at soda fountains in drug stores. Their report indicates "pop" itself caught on as slang, and was prominently used in northern states like Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Our local maker was Faygo. Terrible quality but an example of their ads, which always had someone making the clerk recite the entire list of flavors then choosing the last one. I have no idea what the flavor Rock 'n' Rye was.
