I know nothing about knives, but I thought it was an oyster shucker. What are the dimensions?

It's a dagger alright...but a spear point with no markings....a huge ricasso and no fuller............... i'm not certain it's military....?

but it does have this kinda vibe....

To me, a boot dagger......but I'm seeing this called a
    Witches Athame......

I know it's not exactly the same................
    but it's in the ballpark..

This would be more of a military version.....
but it's getting away from your design...

to me, this is the oyster shucker I know of...

but,,,,there are indeed versions with a longer spear point blade...

still..... I don't see the OP's blade as a shucker...

Though the hole in the guard is reminiscent of a bayonet, another possibility is that it was intended to be used in tying the knife to a long spear-like branch, in survival-type situations; some "survival knives" have various methods intended to facilitate that kind of thing.

Yah, without knowing how long it is, without a sharpened blade, it still looks like a home made oyster shucker to me! ;)
