Hi people. I bought a big lot of costume jewellery, most are unmarked.

    Anything that immediately sparks interest?

I am adding individual photos of the marked items as well as a couple of pieces I found interesting.

Sorry, it posted before the media was added and I can't seem to edit in the photos.

    Here they are...

Under Others I found interesting, item in first pic looks like a sweater clip; I remember them from early to mid-60s. The plain bangle bracelet under Some more closeups appears to be genuine elephant ivory; see some hints that the other one may also be ivory but we would need photos showing clearly whether or not there is the same sort of grain evident in the first one.

Thank you so much Bronwen. I was hoping the bangles aren't ivory due to legalities of sellimg them, but will take some more close ups a bit later and post them here.

Ps. forgot to say in first post and know it is important to help with identifying things, I'm in South Africa. Lot was bought from one of our local auction sites.

Most of those clip earrings are 1980s - I still have a fair few.

First off, your photos are excellent. And welcome to the site!

I am not seeing anything that stands out of great value, the ivory carved bracelet (never mind the difficulty of selling, if ivory) seems kind of simply carved, so I don't think a high end piece. If anything the other one seems nicer, but that one does appear to be ivory.

Clip earrings (unless dripping with colored rhinestones and/from a collected maker) do not have much of a following these days. And for your question whether that circle mark on the back of a pair was a maker's mark, it is not. The Trifari, Givenchy, Monet might find a buyer, but I would think if they sold, value would be minimal.

Grab bags are tough if you think someone with knowledge with jewelry has prepared them. We've had people on this site find some amazing things in grab bags -- but at a thrift where the packers knew nothing about jewelry.

    :)

There is interest in a brand like GIVENCHY (even when licensed) but mostly for items with obvious branding.

I hate to say it, but both of those bracelets are ivory. It might be worth checking those earring with the purple "stones" too, just in case. Odds are they're costume, but you never know.
