Featured Lovely but modest locket and chain with pics!

This cute thing also caught my eye on eBay...I love it. ( I DO lurve a lot of things)
I have kept the pics as is because they meant something to someone not THAT long ago,I have been wearing it since I got it ( I have a few 'photos of people that are not related to me around,some on the wall,some in the frame they came in. I don't like to take them out. Silly me )

Seller said she thought the locket was Victorian...the pics to me look more WW i-ish to my ole uneducated eyes,even *I* know they're not Vicky era).
Could it be gold filled or plated? It's an inch approx.
Doesn't really smell of brass
The pics could have been put there at any time of course.
There are two pics under these pics of the same people ! SO EXCITING!
The hinge bit , I look there to see if it has two materials in it usually and this only has one. No inner bit. I don't even know if this is A Thing. So could be just brass.

She said the chain she thought was Georgian ( I know some sellers just throw words and eras around with no regard to any actual knowledge)
It reeks of brass so as far as I can tell tis brass.
It's 22 inches approx ( 60 ish cms)

I suspect you've a mix. The locket inner frame itself is probably brass but the back and front gold. Early 20th. Lovely chain, rolled gold on brass? I'd give the chain a vinegar wash.

Chain could well be rolled gold on brass, I never remember to give a vinegar bath.

Charming! Me too keep what comes in lockets, braided hair (but not the basic messy hair cut), photos or dried flowers
