Maker Of Serpents Stretch Glass Vase

You're with the majority calling dolphins serpents. Dolphins are a lot cuter in real life with smooth skin and sleek tails. Perhaps we could call them monster dolphins. It's safe to call that vase milk glass and I guess we're looking at 12 inches or taller? Vases being more bountiful than m.g. hens on a nest it requires some luck to find a maker, which I haven't had lately. A guess is foreign.

Now, my real reason for being here - If you acquired that recently and 1,000% as is, have you tried lifting the yellow tag for a possible hidden mark?

Great find on the eBay listing, though it doesn't help with age or maker. Funny she calls them candlesticks. They do look much more like vases. No, the eBay one is not milk glass, but the one on this site looks like opalescent milk glass. Perhaps it's just the lighting. There is definitely a wide variance on my monitor of density between the "vase'"and the "candlestick." I believe the top and bottom were poured separately, and I pictured the vase with a slightly different formula of the "WHITEning" agent than the base. That would also help in explaining the difference in the candlestick heights.
In any case I believe the item at the top of this page is very desirable and I hope you bring it home at a price you can't resist.

 

Appears to be cased glass to me. I have never seen antique dolphin footed vases in cased glass. Makes me think this is fairly modern.

 

I did contact the eBay seller for any possible help. She has completely changed the description and dropped the price, saying the old info. came from the estate liquidator and she never quite agreed. She does think it might be mid-20th. Sorry, verybrad, I don't know what you mean by cased.

 

I think the inspiration for those creatures is the Mahi-Mahi, also called a dolphin-fish. They have been a food source for millennia, including in the Mediterranean.
