I have an older knife the handle is either copper, Brass, or bronze. A dymo label attached by a former owner says malta but other knives from this collection are misidentified while others were correct. the middle of the sheath is bone or horn can anybody tell me where this came from and the rough age

Looks like Middle Eastern. Lebanon, Syria, that part of the world. A type of jambiya.
Could have been bought in Malta. Malta has always had close ties with the Middle East, it is geographically close to it, and Malti is a Semitic language. For many people from the Middle East, Malta was the first port of call in Europe.
