Bought this painting for a song, it depicts a circular view of The city of Sevilla in Andalucia, Spain with the Plaza de Toros as the focal point. It is 39 1/2'' X 32'' in size. It is signed ''Manuel Arenas'', no date, don't think it is very old, the frame has a stamp ( casa Carreras, Calle amor de dios 15, Sevilla), which is an art supply store that now stands at Calle 27 amor de dios. Found a couple of Manuel Arenas one of them being Manuel Arenas Ramirez who is a painter sculptor from the North of Spain in Gijon (Asturias)....sent him a message on FB but he has been inactive( nothing posted since 2013)..so not sure. Picked-it up because the price was right and it is a town that i love, having visited while taking in the atmosphere of Flamenco, Orange Blossom in the air,the Alcazar, Cathedral and Salmojero con Jamon and other eatable/drinkable delights.
Casa Carreras was founded in 1943 and moved from number 15 to number 27 Amor de Dios in December 2008. https://www.diariodesevilla.es/sevilla/vida-dispensando-casa-arte_0_234277140.html They're a web site with lots of contact information. https://casa-carreras.es/tienda/content/6-donde-estamos Debora
The store caters to art students from Bellas Artes. Arenas could have been an art student there then and no longer in Seville. Debora
