Hi, This pin is made from copper, with burnishing and applied pieces on the front. It's about 2 1/4 inches wide. I know it's a long shot, but does anyone recognize the mark on the back? Is it initials, an Asian character, or just stray tool marks? Thanks for any help. I will probably also post on the jewelry forum, but wanted to start here. brut1.JPG brut2.JPG brut3.JPG brut4.JPG

I would not call this "brutalist" or "modern" art jewelry. I believe this is student work (lost wax method) - silver on copper (gold bauble? - I cannot tell) with pinback soldered - a lesson in casting and soldering various metals.
