These are 8 inches tall, and marked with what looks like M Z and VI IV. I'm not sure of the material. I think pottery of some type or plaster/composite. Does anyone know this mark?
In searching I saw one other pair, identified as Ben Seibel, which I don't think is right.
    Thanks!

    Thank you Bronwen, edited.

Thank you Figtree. I don't think these are metal.

I didn't think so, either, but I don't have them in hand. The description in that auction could be inaccurate. You can see in the other discussion from here that I linked, the original poster said theirs were pottery. Anyway, I thought the link to EBTH could also show a potential value in case you are researching that.

To state the maybe obvious 1964.

Well, I hadn't thought of that! The Roman numerals, you mean...

I also thought it might be 1964, and the style would be reasonable for that date.

As INH noticed, not just the same mark, the same model bookends. They look like 1964.

I noticed, too, just didn't happen to mention it since the OP was asking about the mark and I was focused on that. oops! :)

I want to bludgeon whoever meant that for a date. MCMLXIV is not that hard.
