Marks on Cruet Set

    I bought a cruet set online (pics will be added later, after I've polished and reassembled it ) and it has this mark:

    It looks like a sword/cross on a shield to me. It doesn't look like the Dutch silver sword marks I've seen so far. Any idea?

    And, what first looked like random scratch marks, turned out to be this

    Agree, not a Dutch sword mark. Looks like it is silverplate.

    I’d agree on silver plate and I suspect British.

    The scratched number is so you can match stoppers.
