I’m just wondering if anybody knows what it was designed for? The centre is raised quite prominently and the foot rim is very very tall.

    Thanks again

It almost looks like a low tazza or compote. However, the raised part in the centre of the dish negates that. Could be part of a dessert set — the well part to catch juices of something? What is the diameter?

Well, that would be a small tazza size...
