I think this is probably made of plaster, but what I am really having trouble with is the marking stamped into it. I can look up each words meaning, but put together I am lost in any kind of translation that makes sense. It is, Hecho X/ Mayas Y/ Destruido/ X Ixoye. Hopefully someone can help me with this and also some general information on this piece and its meaning and possible origin. It stands around 8.5" tall. Thanks in advance for any help.

That's what I was leaning towards but it seems like an odd place for a statement with a story behind it. Especially on what is probably more of an tourist/souvenir item.

Ni idea what the translation means. But agree odd. Perhaps it refers to Mayan culture.
