Hello. I have this interesting set that I don't know anything about it. I know only that it is chalice and paten. It was bought in Latvia. Maybe someone can tell me when, where, and from what material it might be made. There are no silver marks. Also maybe someone is familiar with this coat of arms or can read what is written on the bottom? Thank you in advance.

Beautiful piece with lots of hand engraving.I'd copy every letter on the base & enter it into a translation program for a start.
You could also contact the nearest Latvian social club or fraternal union & see if you could get it translated. These fraternities exist all over the country-we had a huge Croatian one in Eureka,CA.
PS-...or someone here could be a Latvian Robert Langdon ?

The metal looks like gilded silver, but it is best to have it tested to be certain.

The main denominations in Latvia are Lutheran and Roman Catholic, and both use chalices.
If this is a Roman Catholic chalice and paten, the text could be in Latin. It is very difficult to read from a photo though, so bosko's idea of writing it out is good.
I believe I see Mgr. (at 11 o'clock), which could mean Monseigneur, which is how a bishop is addressed.

I think more likely to be Monsignor, which is a weird catholic rank.

Monsignor is used in English speaking countries for various members of the clergy. In other countries Monseigneur or Monsignor(e) are used to address a Catholic bishop.
The abbreviation Mgr. generally means Monseigneur. Mons. or Msgr. generally mean Monsignor(e).
Since this was found in Latvia, with Mgr, the Mgr could mean Monseigneur. If it does, it refers to a bishop.
