Medicine Bottle or some kind of shaker

    This is an amber colored bottle with a celluloid cap and a mother of pearl insert in the cap with 7 holes. The holes look much to large to have been for a salt or pepper shaker so could it have been for another purpose? The bottom reads " 4 DR. 26(A)55 U.S.A." It stands 2 3/8" tall. Thanks in advance!
