Mejii era Japanese newspaper

    Found this in the shed. It seems to me to be a possibly 19th C Japanese newspaper, I could be wrong and it's Chinese. There seems to be some numbers in a strip of wording along one edge, an I was mondering if this could be the date in regnal year format?

    I doubt there is any value to it and I know we are short of Japanese/chinese readers. Maybe @Taupou can help.

    The pictures are all Japanese. I can't read the rest.
