Metal 2 1/2" Token - can anyone identify?

    This token was beautifully & professionally framed in New Orleans. I can't see what the back is like, the edges look smooth & it's about 2 1/2" across. I've a little information on two images A very short version--- The wolves & kettle- token 2 Small.JPG long ago a family in Spain fed wild animals -a sign of generosity; the pelican feeding it's young - early Christians a symbol for Christ? the bird? It has a crest, the star and the letter? in the middle. How would this all tie in?

    Does anyone know what this interesting token is or what it represents?
