Thanks! I was able to find out that it was some sort of teapot. Made of pewter somewhere around the 1920's.

There seems to be several pewter with glass panel teapots out there. Here is one that looks identical to yours. The markings appear the same also.

Most of the sellers of these glass insert teapots are calling them Chinese. I really don't see the Chinese characters for Made in China on them, but than I certainly am no reader of Chinese or any Asian languages. The characters for "Made in China" are usually:
中国制造 or 中國製造 or Zhōngguó zhìzào

    "Made in Japan" are:
    日本製

Here are a variety of pewter with glass inserts:

BTW, some are saying these glass panel pewter items are from Swatow, present-day Shantou, China. I am familiar with early Swatow ware porcelain, but not with pewter from that area. I don't know if they are correct or not. I have a feeling they don't know for I feel pewter from that area would be much older than these teapots??

Swatow pewter is mentioned on the following page. A good 1/2 way down the page to the paragraph starting with "By the way, you can also find antique pewter from China dated from the 19th and 20th centuries."

Another BTW, By The Way, the marks under the spout are the Chinese Characters for "Good Fortune."
