I found this at my local thrift store today - at first I thought it was bronze! - but I scratched a piece of hair on a nail and it looks like aluminum or spelter? It's really heavy so I was surprised when I saw the shiny silver color where it was scratched.
I thought it might have been for lighting the end of a driveway at night? (the wiring + the steel rod in bottom of it that went into ground for support, right?)
It measures 43" from ground to her hand.
So, any ideas what it was? What it's made of? How old it is?
And if possible what it's worth? (I paid $250)
Thanks - any help is appreciated.
PS - my other find there today was a all original, in fairly good shape, 1950's Ladies Schwinn Panther with the gas tank sides!

Lawn Jockey! That's the word I was looking for!
Now to see if I can find another to see if it was worth the $250?
