The kitty is sleeping with one eye open, probably keeping an eye on me for good reason. Anyone know who made her? I've found similar marks but nothing identical. I thought it was pre-WWII at first but then realized that sterling mark is probably just a factory mark.

Hougart's The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks lists the following "BJ (Script). Inside a circle, Eagle 3, or, 925 Taxco Sterling. (Designs and marks are virtual copies of Damaso Gallegos)"

Sorry, that's not much to go on .... :(

Cat looked familiar ... now I know why. A similar one was shown here a while back.

It's the same design, if not the same maker. I've found lots of things with that mark attributed to Gallegos. Looks like we'll never know who really did it.

I think these date to cuspy 1960s/1970s. I had a similar cat's head key holder from about that time.

Agree with Debora and the stamp is pre 79.
