I've collected some jewelry over the last few weeks that I would appreciate some help on, if possible.

    1. Michal Negrin locket. Is the chain and tag supposed to be this color or should I clean it?

    2. Are these cameos some kind of shell? If so, what kind do you think?

    3. Filagree Venus and Cupid Brooch -When was this type of pin popular? thumbnail_IMG_6690.jpg thumbnail_IMG_6691.jpg

    4. Clip Earrings with purple, blue and yellow cut glass(?) and a L in an oval Jewelry Mark. I couldn't find the single L anywhere. Can you help?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I saw that L on some earrings yesterday but I don’t know who it is. One was broken so I left them there.
Sorry, that’s one of the most worthless posts I’ve written as it doesn’t help you at all!

Clips are 80s. Can't remember who, damn.

    Sunshine cloth on the Negrin.

Well that was serendipitous, wasn't it. I appreciate you looking anyway. One letter jewelry marks seem strange in the modern market.

Thank you for trying. If you remember, I'm here. It's good that you know it because that means it's a known brand.
Ah so that Michal Negrin cleans up. I have a sunshine cloth. Thank you.

@Bronwen for the cameos. I have my thoughts, but I'm very likely wrong, so I'm curious to know.

Thank you for looking. They aren't anything special, but I don't think they are plastic.

They look nice to me. May as well say: I'm wondering if they could be acid cut cameo glass.

Oh. I've never heard of that. Let me go and look.

The Nike & the Angel are mass produced, although etched into genuine mother of pearl, by what means I do not know. I only ever see these 2 designs & have a ring with the Angel.

The other piece has already been correctly identified as glass, reverse etched? The scene can be interpreted as Venus disarming Cupid or Venus teasing Cupid.

Thanks for getting back on these cameos. I thought that they looked like shell on the back. I didn't know the figures - I appreciate you pointing that out. They have cheap settings, but the cameo is pretty in the light.

The setting on the intaglio is weird, because it blocks the light and it is hard to see it. I had to hold it in full sunlight before I saw it. I didn't know there were two different versions of the Venus and Cupid scene. Very interesting. Thank you.

The L on the earring is Left; there's an R on the other one.

    Not sure anyone ever did.

LOL Here I thought it was a maker's mark. You are so clever to see this. Thank you.

Did you see @evelyb30's reply - Left ear L Right ear R

I've seen it before, with and without a maker's mark.

I've never noticed it, but I don't buy many earrings. I bought these to find out about them. The gold plating seems thick, and the stones/glass are faceted and held in well.
