    This little pin measures 1 1/2" x 1/2"
A new antique store just opened up and thought it was cheap.
Looking around i think i might have paid to much for it.

I honestly didn't think it was that old.

See what others think, who knows if that seller made it up. :hilarious:

I don't think you can count on its being quite that old, although it is certainly solidly vintage. Thirties possible.

I'd have thought pre WW2 - that back is better than the 50s and 60s stuff.

I agree, pre WW2. Nice back.
Technically speaking it is mosaic rather than micro-mosaic.;)
    This is micro-mosaic:

Visited Italy in the mid 50s as a child and saw this type of jewelry being sold by many vendors as pin and bracelet souvenirs. Bought A pin in Pisa while visiting the Leaning Tower and still have it.

I agree, micro mosaic uses much smaller pieces, sorry!

I bought 2 in Rome in the 60s as gifts for friends back home. There were lots of vendors. I would remember if the backs had looked like this. They did not. This one is decades earlier.

I was thinking the design on the back could indicate the maker, but haven’t figured this out.

More likely mass produced blanks used by many mosaicists.

I'm liking 30s. And not micro.
