I purchased this painting at a thrift store this morning. I really like the style and it reminds me of the works of a couple of my favorite printmakers from that era. I am assuming that it is an illustration. There was no information on the back and no signature. It appears to be on watercolor paper attached to illustration board. I am guessing that it is mid century, style and framing materials seem to suggest that. I believe the paint is gouache. Any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated. I did try a reverse image search, no luck. IMG_1085.jpg IMG_1087.jpg IMG_1088.jpg IMG_1089.jpg

Looking at the back address on the illustration board...In 1943, a system of postal districts was formed for major cities. Each district was assigned a one or two digit code that senders would place in between the city name and the state name. In 1961, they adopted the five digit codes. This could help date your piece, anyway.
