Jivvy the research is my favorite

I'm seeing mixed media and late seventies/early eighties, but that's observation, not research.

    So am I.
I wouldn't call it abstract, since those are clearly people.;)

If that even exists, I imagine it would be abstract and have brightly coloured foaming paint thrown all over the top, which drooled down to the bottom.
You can tell I really like fat lava pottery, can't you.:hilarious:

I imagine such a piece would not be hung but propped against a wall, then one would try and avoid stubbing a toe on it or hope it never fell on the baby.

Oh my - apparently there is such a thing as Fat Lava wall art. Yikes !
I took (stole:sorry:) this image from an etsy shop.
Sorry bogtrotten, it doesn't answer your question and is sort of a hijack, but I guess it expands on the idea of textural wall pieces.

Remember the ceilings with the coloured speckles in the spackle-y finish ?
