Hello everyone - today's mystery is a milk glass vase with a poppy decoration. It is about 5 1/2" tall and has a metal rim. I think the rim might be silver but there are no markings. Does anyone have any research suggestions? Thanks for whatever help you can provide.

Though it's rather small it might be the base to a GWTW type lamp that had a removable oil font/reservoir.

Silver (and silverplate) rims often have very tiny marks located near the lower edge. I would look more closely and perhaps use a silver cloth to try to reveal a lurking mark.

Lovely vase! (or is it a jar missing its lid?)

If there's space for a metal lid, it might be a jam pot.

Sorry, no real help here. I'd guess (very nice) hand painting, but also that it's a jar, not a vase. If you're randomly searching I suggest you drop the "milk glass" AKA opaque glass.

They're California poppies - escholzia - which might be a lead to country of origin.
