The reseller gave me this millefiori paperweight with a large bubble as a parting gift. It is a standard 2 1/2 inch size. What surprised me was looking down from the top, the bubble creates an optical illusion of a tiny version of the weight within its confines. Research did not result in any real information except one exceptional example from the early 1900s.

Otherwise, just a your usual vintage, Moreno, etc. There are no marks or special canes that I can find. Does anyone have any information?

It's older Chinese I reckon. The frosted base is the dead giveaway on that, as is the slightly muddy glass colour and the cane colours. The ones on Ebay are too, I'd say.

Perfect. These are the type of clues, I most appreciate. From the limited number on line, I am guessing that this was a passing fancy in paperweight design. Thank you.

Wow. That is sensational! It is a true work on art. I appreciate this example on how to find a mark. When I worked I collected paperweights to decorate my desk. I have a few very nice ones and am looking for ways to spot the better ones. Thank you very much.

I agree. It is the perfect accent to the bright colors of the canes.
