Miniature Prayer Scroll Holders? Indian Brass?

    Hello Board Friends - I picked up a box lot of brass miniatures and had these two pieces included in the lot. I think they are prayer scroll holders. The shortest is 1 1/4" and the taller is about 1 1/2". I was able to get the top off the shorter piece and it has plastic inside, I assume to protect the prayer. Is there a certain name for these items? The pattern leads me to believe Indian brass but I'm unsure. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!
