    Hi All,
would this be a souvenir piece or for a doll house? It is 8 1/2"L x 4 1/2"W x 4 1/2"H, missing the hinges. Is this oak? Stamped Made in England, little tag attached 'Hand Made Tudor Refectory Table'
    any information appreciated

More of a souvenir, I suspect, although if scale is right, no reason it couldn't be used in a doll house. Or doll monastery.

    Sweet little table, cx.
I want one of those. I always wanted my own monastery or convent (as one does), but feeding all those monastics.... Miniature is better.:)

Tudor is the first style to emerge from the middle ages & marked the end of the medieval period in England & the beginning of the english renaissance (roughly 1480-1550). Period pieces are rare, even in england.

That scale is awfully large for a dollhouse so I vote souvenir as well. I love it.

Coronation souvenir, to be precise. I agree. I'd give it house room.

I never doubted it for one minute! You made a perfect start for a miniature alternative.
This could be your first inhabitant, looks like it is going to be a convent:

Current queen's cipher, Coronation souvenir. Nicer than most. Sold as cigarette boxes.

Most welcome. Some of these show up made from the remnants of things like old bridges or even ships.
