Featured minton framed porcelain brooch...........................c/s10

    something else i picked up, quite a good size, the same blue ribbon and pink roses pattern as that nice teacup set i found

    would it be one of those collar type brooches ?

    didn't come with the box, just added

    Do you mean lapel brooch? Yes, it is probably a lapel brooch.
    Looks like the back is silver, the clasp is ca 1910, so a pretty antique.

    Awesome thanks Aj, i thought maybe one of those that were worn in the middle neck area

    quite large (2 1/2 inches)

    I think the top would stick uncomfortably into the neck if it were worn there.

    The little loop would have held a thin chain with a safety pin, all silver as well. That was done on quality brooches.:)

    The ones worn high up were often bar brooches for a reason - less likely to jab into your windpipe. I see the loop for the safety chain too, so lapel brooch seconded.
