not my type of thing, but noticed the minton mark
has the victorian lozenge mark as well
would it be blue onion pattern ?
image search suggests a type of drainer ?, but cant find anything specific
    measures 8 1/4 inches diameter

    any help appreciated

It is used for berries, etc. I don't know the English word for it, only Dutch.

No not a juicer, the fruit stays whole. You just rinse them and the residual water leaks into the bottom bowl.

The center hole appears big enough for berries to fall through?

The link I sent, looks like the concave bit with holes doubles up as a lid. Just gets flipped over. Looks like yourself isn't constructed that way. I doubt it had a lid for the reason you mentioned
