Featured Mom’s Sideboard

This looks to me like it’s got a little bit of age but may have been worked over a bit. The sides and back of the drawers are very thick..seems much more refined on the outside than the inside…and I’m sorry for the mediocre photos!
I’d appreciate an thoughts/info

 

Lovely color! Is the primary fruitwood? It reminds of French Louis Philippe style.

 

Looks more like pine. Could well be French. A look at drawer construction, back side of door, and back of piece would be helpful.

 

NICE looking cabinet!! Are you replacing the drawer pulls?? It has Great color....at least I think so too!!!

 

Thanks Folks! The pulls are inside. I’ll try to get some better pics next time I’m up that way.

 

Here’s two more I didn’t post initially:

 

Pics are still not really sufficient. I am getting a newer feel based on what I can see. Would expect a chamferred backside to the door panel on an old piece. Realize that nails could be added but expect dovetails for the drawer for an old one. Think I see a mult-board drawer bottom which is also a sign of newer.

Pics confirm this is an old piece. Think late 19th century, on in to the 20th. Kind of hard to tell with European country pieces.
