My fun pickup today! Missing No. 490 Mossberg double-ended alligator wrench, so I mentioned in Wanted section. I need one in exc. cond. but all on Eboo now are poor. Set in oak case, outside about 15 x 10 x 3”.

These are light duty, strictly Harry Homeowner, or small jobs on cars.

A lot of sockets these days are 12-point, good for hex and square head bolts, but of course the lands are smaller and weaker if you really want to apply torque. So strong socket sets labeled “impact” for impact wrenches or socket wrenches are available for not much more than regular sockets.

Think I’ll put that set in a locked glass case, small hammer hanging from chain, labeled “use only in case of emergency.”

I'm scared - LOL! When I had my pattern shop we went to alot of used machinery places in Cleveland, even though we never needed anything they had (as I had a wood shop and most were for metal) but it was still amazing to walk through!

Funny I hit those shops too, I still remember the fairly modern lathe that must have been 50 feet long, think the dealer told me it had been used to make Army 175mm cannon barrels. I’d visit local shops on trips to Cleveland where I’d spend the weekend in the IX center at the Ohio Gun Collector’s Assn. show.

I cut my teeth on gun collecting at the OGCA at the IX center. My Dad would take me with him and I would take my summer earnings and he would help me pick out good stuff like 20 ga shotguns and Case knives.
Fun times for sure. I am a life member , but the 3hr+ drive down to Wilmington leaves me to only showing up once or twice a year now. When it was in Milan it was just a couple minutes from my shop and I could go there all day then go to the shop and work 2nd shift for time and a half and double time to make up for all I spent at the show.
    Great times!!

Thanks, I bookmarked it, just never know when I’ll find a Citroen Creeper for cheap that only needs tracks!

I thought they seemed like your kind of guys. The person I was trying to find is named among their supporters. I want to know what she does at the Thorvaldsen Museum not on her weekends!
