He served in the European theater in WW2, but did not see combat. He mainly guarded war prisoners. He brought back some souvenirs, but will not post those since they contain symbols that, to this day, offend people.

Still an important job, thank you for his service.
Thank you for your consideration, very good of you.:) Those symbols have been posted on the forums before though. Let's consider them part of history, and hope they serve as a warning.

I love that the Ruptured Duck saw a lot of use. Some guys tossed them into a drawer. That one had a 40 year tour of duty from the look of it.

My wife and I went to an estate sale 2 years ago, and the person must have been high up in the nazi regime. The items were on display and for sale. It made me wonder how that guy even landed here in the US..

Were they the deceased owners personal medals awarded during the Regime,or could they have been collected by someone not associated with the party,ie: a WWII enthusiast ?

Lots of Nazis got invited to make their domicile in Allied countries-if they had the right Cold War skill sets.Would've been a trip to have that guy as a neighbor and talk about the 'good ole days' over a jug of schnapps !

There's a crazy movie like that called Apt Pupil. I think it's based on a Stephen King book.

The person at the estate sale had a full set of "Nazi War Bonds", which were little booklets that you got if you donated funds to the cause.. from an historical perspective, it was amazing because they were in perfect shape! From a moral perspective, however, it was abysmal. :(
