My paternal great-grandfather's and grandfather's pocket watches

    As far as I know, they both still work. Right now they are in a safe deposit box. A few years ago, after inheriting them from my uncle's estate, I asked the antique dealer for an appraisal and instead of just giving me a value, he offered me $50 for them - that is for both, not for each. After that I researched them online. He probably figured to get $150 to $200 each (this is speculation on my part). I never indicated I wanted to sell them. Why wouldn't he just give me an appraisal? They are worth a lot more to me in sentimental value, so I wouldn't have sold them no matter what anyone said.
