Mysterious Monogram

    Hi all,

I’m trying to identify the artist of a painting that I recently purchased and wonder if anyone could please help me.

By way of brief background, I purchased the painting in a recent house clearance auction in Ireland and unfortunately no information about the picture was given by the auctioneer. It’s a large oil on canvas in an abstract expressionist style. There is a monogram in the bottom right but despite my best efforts I’ve been unable to identify the artist.

I’ve attached a photo of the painting and a close-up of the monogram. I’ve also attached another photo of a second painting (with red waves and circles) by the same artist which was also in the auction.

Any suggestions, ideas etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time and any help.

The artist took their inspiration from Miro, for the second painting.

    Edit: Maybe Calder too.
