Mystery artist and print-can you ID? TIA!

I know absolutely nothing about art, I don't know the medium of this, looks like paint somehow...mixed media, maybe....does anyone recognize the artist? Looks like "S. Alexis" to me, and the title looks like "Lessons." Thanks.



I can read some of the phrases.... the top says "Little Love" and "Little Kisses" and the bottom above the signature says "I'd love to be on an island with you." Song lyrics?

 

Like, not love, to be on an island with you.

 

I can't identify the artist, but it 's a striking impressionistic still life. The color saturation of the red roses is wonderful. The work manages to be beautiful and playful at the same time.

I did a lyrics search on the words in hopes of finding a song, but nothing turned up.

That's all I have, for now at least.

Why does what should be "island" look like something that starts with SE instead of I?

 

Albert Gumble (with Alfred Bryan and Jack Wells) wrote a song in 1914 called "I'd Like to be on an Island with You."
Of course, others may have used the line....anyone recognize "I'm going where the Weather Suits my Clothes?" which he wrote in 1910?

Not the same as the other words in the art, though....

"You wouldn't have to dress in style,
You would only wear a smile.
In your bare skin gown adorning
You'd look like September Morning."

 

Seacoast? Seconal?
And the title could be "Uciftoms" or almost anything....

There is a Sofia Alexis, but it is not her signature or style.

 

Thanks, all, she seems to have a hard-to-read, yet beautiful, cursive style.

 

Here is a close-up of the title.... I couldn't fathom it until I photographed it.... I think Lessons ties to the music and art, I could be wrong....and life in general.

The numbers insist it started off as a print, but after that... artists will do anything! I know I might!

There seem to be more words painted around the flowers in the dark blue areas mostly. Light blue? "sayings?"

 

Yes, I need to get out my decoding skills for this.
