Mystery Candlesticks

Hello!

I'd be incredibly grateful if anybody could tell me anything at all about these candlesticks? I have searched online for anything that looks even remotely similar and drawn a total blank. They're about 5.5 inches tall, heavy and have (in places down the side) a seam - although not very clear. They've been in the family for years and my elderly mum would love to know more about them.

Any pointers as to where I should look for more info about them would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

My first thought was ornate, embossed or stamped brass, possibly from India. Please wait for others, who will undoubtedly know more than I about them. I do think that they're very pretty!

They look like 19th C Indian brass sticks to me. Rather nicer than the usual.

Thank you. They've been with us for so long that it's hard to view them objectively but I have always loved them.

There won't be a connection to you. We imported hundreds of thousands of things from the British Empire, including India.
