    Not matches, no rough surface. Might have been for a calendar.

    $_57 (6).jpg Yes it is more like chalkware but the gap behind the dog isnt really deep enough to hold anything, its marked on the back with a number and made in england, looks a bit art deco, must be something missing meant to fit in the back

    There's just a very shallow recess in the holder part not deep enough to hold a number card, thats why I cant work out what its for or what the thing is meant to be next to the dog, maybe a curtain or something
