Featured Mystery Dish

    I just bought this on eBay. I don’t have it yet but bid because I didn’t know what it was and I’m always curious to learn.

    Does anybody have any thoughts? I initially thought a trembleuse but too deep so I’m thinking perhaps a jam pot. It has a Meissen mark but it’s not necessarily Meissen.

    It looks like Blanc De chine. May be missing a lid or something.

    All ideas welcome.

    My first thought was a butter dish missing it's cover. That would explain the lack of decoration on the central circular bit.
    How big is it?

    Yes that looks to be a step in the right direction. I don't know the size unfortunately but that photo is against a staircase.
