I have no idea what to do to figure out this things age or maker. Some parts look old(glass, maybe eagle) the rest looks kind of 70's... any ideas? Power cord is brownish looks 1950's or 60's. Fully operational, no fire hazard noticed. Bought without matching shade so shade not shown in pictures...

I've seen them. It's in nice shape but I'd be shocked if worth $20.
Best part is the eagle to me. I think I have one.

I paid $4 for it just because it envoked the F*** yeah, 'Merica feeling in me I practically never get :) I also wanted to be that guy walking around the store with it... it's tall! Maybe 2-3 feet plus shade adds 3 inches

That was mostly a joke^ And I needed a lamp... try buying a nice lamp at a thrift store that 500 plus people go to a day on your first visit there... it was that or some boring thing. Clear choice of course!!

I've seen at least a half dozen of these(or very similar) at various thrifts / yard sales in the last 3 or 4 moths.

The ones I saw the prices on were between 10 and 30 ...as far as I can remember. My uneducated guess would be that a lot of these were made around bicentennial time. '76.

This kind of thing I can see being worth a few days wages in another 50 years. It's so American i also like the style of the glass. It almost looks 1920s but isn't hand blown from what I see

1972 I'd date it if I had to guess

These are probably never going to be that valuable because so many were made. It isn't necessarily the age of an item, but the quantity made. My mother-in-law had a pair of these in the living room in the 1950s and, thankfully, my sister-in-law took them because I'd have scrapped them. EVERYONE had these in the 50s. My aunts, my cousins. Not special enough.

Again, this should have been in a different category because it's not art.
