I found this and wondered what metal it might be. It was very dull colored and dirty but thought there might be something interesting underneath it. It shined up releasing a lot of "tarnish." It shines up like silver but hoping it doesn't have much lead in it. Always have to remember to wear gloves when cleaning old metal objects, even jewelry.

Anyone know what metal this is?

I did upload too but they didn't take for some reason. I see that Metalware doesn't have a category in the media section. Trying to find the way to do that.

Sorry about the image problems. I am "attaching" them until I understand the better way to do that in this part of forum.

Could be Spelter/pot metal (zinc alloy). But as Komo asked, is it magnetic? Spelter is NOT magnetic.

No, it's not magnetic. Yes, I remember about pot metal. I forgot that it could be shined to a luster though.

Here is another photo. Fits large round vase-pattern pots well.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

"Upload a file" and clicking on the "Full Image" button is the method that almost everybody here prefers, in all of the forums here.

Please always post dimensions I haven’t a clue about the pot sizes mentioned. Meanwhile, is it bigger than a breadbox?

looks like soldered brass or brazed, but hard to braze brass as the melting points are the same...believe me , I have tried ....lol
