Hoping someone can tell me something about it. Hoping the main riders clothing and saddle may be a tip off. I think Spain when I see that rider for some reason. The scene maybe looks more northern though? Also wondering if there’s a name for the matting used here? It’s kind of speckled and really snazzy under the dirty glass. Guessing the print is from a mid’ish to later 19th century book.

Wondering if what looks like "matting" is actually a 'reverse painting on glass' with an area left open for the scene to show through!!!! NICELY done!!!
AND of course, I could be totally wrong! This re-sized image should let you look closely at what the rider's wearing, but not the saddle as there's a blue blanket over it....but you CAN see someone walking with the rider with a long staff with him....NICE image/scene!!!!

And now you know WHERE the scene is of, as well!!! Win/Win!!!! Plus I didn't even see the person walking behind the horse, and couldn't figure out that, that's a horn in the rider's hand he's holding aloft!! Well done, @Roaring20s!!

It took about 15 to 20 minutes using an image search and several combinations of keywords. The combination that worked was; antique, alps, valley, castle.

Very kind to have spent so much time looking!!! I didn’t know that you could add words to image searches! I learned my one thing for the day.
