This tile measures 5 3/4" x 3 1/4" and is 1/4" thick. The polychrome red color looks a little older? Any idea of age and tribe?

The colors are right for a Hopi tile, but the design is a tad bit generic--by which I mean a tourist tile.

It's a Hopi tile, I agree. But all Hopi tiles are "tourist" tiles, in that tiles have always been produced for the tourists, dating back to the start of the tourist trade in the Southwest in the late 1800s.

Tiles were never a part of traditional pottery, made for Hopi use. Just as nearly every Hopi pot available on the market today, was made for sale. It's what made the traditional ceramic art form able to continue, even after it was no longer necessary to produce items that were actually used in the daily life of the Hopi. Although there is also the "collector" market now, many of the desired objects are those early "tourist" pieces.

(It's especially difficult to date Hopi pottery that is unsigned, since they are still made by traditional methods, using traditional designs, ending up with items made recently looking like they were made years ago.)
